Lesson Two: Boil Cure Potion
4 cups water
2 cups dried nettles
1/2 cup crushed snake fangs
4 stewed horned slugs
2 porcupine quills
Light a fire under your cauldron and add the water, bringing it to a boil. Once the water is at a rolling boil, add the nettles, stirring fifteen times counterclockwise followed by five clockwise stirs. Allow the potion to simmer for 15 minutes. Once this step has been completed, the potion should be a bright garish red. Slowly sprinkle in the crushed snake fangs and stir once clockwise and once counter clockwise to combine. Allow to simmer 5 more minutes, at which point the potion should fade to a more coral color. Once the potion has simmered again, add the 4 stewed horn slugs, stirring in between each to combine until it has dissolved. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes, at which point, you PUT OUT THE FIRE AND ALLOW THE CAULDRON TO COOL FOR 10 MINUTES. After the cauldron has cooled, you may add the porcupine quills and stir to combine.
If you do not take the potion off of the fire before adding the porcupine quills, copious amounts of acid green smoke will start to rise from your potion which will melt your cauldron and eat through your shoes and your classmates shoes, causing angry red boils to sprout. Not to mention horrifying your friends and classmates.
